Girls on the Run is an interactive learning and running after school program for girls. The program combines training for a 5k run with a fun, innovative life skills curriculum. The 10-week afterschool program is led by trained volunteer coaches and addresses individual goals, group skills, and community involvement.

Our goal for each girl is to:

  • Develop a positive self-image and strong sense of identity.
  • Learn to respect peers and cooperate in a group.
  • Build supportive relationships.
  • Establish goals and celebrate her accomplishments
  • Have fun!

Happy, self-confident, physically fit girls working together…that’s our goal!

Awesome Coaches: All GOTR volunteer coaches are passionate about healthy living and making a difference in the lives of young girls. Coaches are CPR and first aid certified.

Financial assistance: We want GOTR to be accessible to all girls, regardless of financial situation. Please submit your application for a Rec & Ed scholarship at least two weeks before the program begins. Click here for scholarship forms.
