Mary Thiefels is an Ann Arbor native. She has been working professionally for over 10 years as a fine artist and educator. She has taught classes for Ann Arbor Rec and Ed for several years. Her mission as a educator is to connect individuals to the experience of painting through the discovery of process with play and exploration. In addition to teaching, Mary is the founder of TreeTown Murals in 2007. She believes mural art should reflect the community and encourage community involvement and economic development. Annette Baron (on right) After earning a bachelors degree in Music and working as a professional musician, Annette made a career change, took classes at the Toledo Museum of Art, and studied the museum's vast glass collection. Eight years later, she established her teaching studio in Ypsilanti, MI. where she continues to create her own work for galleries and shows across the country. Today she enjoys sharing her studio with other artists and current and former students.

Stephanie Carlson has BS in Elementary Education with a minor in integrated Creative Arts and Early Childhood Education. She worked at the DiscoveryCenter in Ann Arbor where she developed activities for the total development of children. She also worked at the Children's Place Learning Center at Western Mich. Univ. and designed themed based lessons for children .

David Cowen has taught sculpture, drawing printmaking classes that emphasize personally meaningful pathways of learning for the past 10 years. His lessons are designed to integrate an understanding of aesthetics, art history, and critical thinking with the process of creating art.
As a Ranger-Naturalist in Yellowstone National Park, David directed a nationwide arts education outreach effort and resident artist program. More recently, he developed a place-based arts curriculum for students in the Bozeman, Montana, School District.
David received his training at the University of Michigan, Art Center College of Design, and Colorado State University

Barbara Goodsitt (on right) is a detail-oriented artist who works on exhibits her fine art in shows and galleries. She is also a professional illustrator and designer. Her commissions include book illustrations, architectural renderings, posters, fabric designs, jewelry, and portraits.
She is an exhibiting member of the Ann Arbor Women's Artist Organization and the Colored Pencil Society of America. Barbara has been working with colored pencils for over a decade and loves this medium. She enjoys sharing her knowledge and love of colored pencils with her students.

Idelle Hammond-Sass Jewelry Designer and metalsmith Idelle Hammond-Sass is a working artist in Ann Arbor, Michigan. With a background in painting and sculpture, she received her B.F.A. from the Art Institute of Chicago and continued her studies at Oxbow and Penland. She frequently attends and teaches workshops and classes. She has over 25 years of experience as a designer and fine art jeweler, shows her work at fine craft fairs and galleries and also offers custom design. Idelle loves the opportunities that jewelry making offers for self expression, invention and creativity and enjoys nurturing and sharing her skills with others.
