Ann Arbor Ultimate donated $2,500 to the Ann Arbor Public Schools Community Education and Recreation department (Rec and Ed). The donation will help cover recent renovation maintenance work on the fields at Scarlet Middle School. Patrick Reed, a director for the organization, passed along the check to Sara Aeschbach, Director of Rec and Ed, at the Recreation Advisory Committee meeting on December 1, 2009. Over the past five years, Ann Arbor Ultimate has also donated about $1,000 to each of the following: Project Grow, Food Gatherers, Huron River Watershed Council, Meals on Wheels, and the Breast Cancer Foundation.
Rec & Ed is investing in the AAPS playing fields by scheduling additional fall and spring turf maintenance. This work will benefit AAPS students and Rec & Ed participants, as well as community field users.
