For the past 10 years, David Cowen has taught sculpture, drawing printmaking classes that emphasize personally meaningful pathways of learning. His lessons are designed to integrate an understanding of aesthetics, art history, and critical thinking with the process of creating art.
As a Ranger-Naturalist in Yellowstone National Park, David directed a nationwide arts education outreach effort and resident artist program. More recently, he developed a place-based arts curriculum for students in the Bozeman, Montana, School District.
David received his training at the University of Michigan, Art Center College of Design, and Colorado State University.
