| EDO |
The Extended Day Option (EDO) is a half day enrichment program offered at some schools. that is provided in the same setting where the child attends kindergarten. The EDO director is also the kindergarten teacher, and the program is designed to ensure an atmosphere that is developmentaly appropriate for the children it serves. All children in this program must attend all days throughout the school year. Download the EDO Parent Handbook for more information.

| Fun Days |
|
Fun day programs offer full-day care to assist families on days that school is not in session. Care is available from 7:15-6:00 pm. A full day of fun, often including a field trip, is offered. Fliers are available a month before the date of the fun day through your participating school. The fun day program is offered at a single site and space is limited, so sign up as early possible. Please call the Community Education office at 734-994-2300 to check on availability.
|
| Mid-winter Break and Spring Break Camps |
Mini camps are run all day during the mid-winter and spring breaks. See the AAPS calendar for dates. These camps offer field trips, outdoor activities and a multitude of indoor activities. These camps are only available to families currently enrolled in the School Age Child Care Program. Space is limited, so early registration is suggested. Please call the Community Education office at 734-994-2300 to check on availability.

| Field Trip Policy |
|
As part of the consent form, all parents sign a general permission for their children to participate in any field trip. This allows the child to be taken on walking field trips. All child care supervisors are to let parents know, in writing, of any preplanned field trips. Besides written notification, which often includes a request for a parent’s signature, an announcement of the field trip will be posted on the Parent’s Bulletin Board at the child care site.
On occasion, parents will be asked to contribute a small fee for special activities such as bowling, roller skating and pizza parties. Parents will be given a recommendation for the amount of spending money to send along. This amount is always optional.
