"Ask Me"

Instead of posting a summary of what we do each day, I've decided to post "Ask Me" questions. These questions are designed to encourage your children to share what they’ve learned each day with you. I'll post new questions as often as possible.

This week is all about rocks! Our focus is on the three major categories of rocks, sedimentary, igneous, and metamorhic

Monday

  • What are the three types of rocks?
  • How do you identify sedimentary rocks? Igneous rocks? Metamorphic rocks?
  • Tell me about the ways you used online resources to find information about rocks.

Tuesday

  • How are igenous rocks formed?
  • What affects the size of the crystals in igneous rocks?
  • What causes a volcano to erupt?

Wednesday

  • How are metamoprhic rocks formed?
  • Tell me about metamorphic munchies.

Thursday

  • How are sedimentary rocks formed?  
  • How did you make a fossil?
  • What is the different between a cast and a mold?

Week 4

  • Tell me about the egg drop.
  • What are the rules of the egg drop?
  • How will the egg drop show toy companies to use less packaging?

Week 5

Monday

  • How have different animals adapted to city habitats?
  • What features in cities do different animals take advantage of?
  • What animals did you see?

Tuesday-Thursday

  • Tell me about the animal that you're inventing.
  • What special adaptations does it have?
  • How does it take advantage of the city habitat?

Monday

  • Why do butterflies have colorful wings?
  • Tell me about your butterfly poster.
